Sagarika Chakraborty of India moved to Norway in 2011 with her husband and two children to take on high-competency work in the oil industry. What she encountared in the Scandinavian country was a system that ruthlessly tried to take from her both her kids.

Mrs Sagarika managed to escape with her children to India, and their traumatic story in 2023 became the award-winning movie «Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway» that has set records worldwide. Her impacting book «The Journey of a Mother» is a global bestseller.

In today´s Insight, Pastor Torp has a warm conversation with this extraordinary mother who stands up for mothers, children, and families all over the world.

The system that is feared by families in Norway, «Barnevernet» (English literal meaning: «Protection of Children»), statistically for many years has been taking five children from their parents every single day, and more than 50 percent are white, ethnic Norwegians, crushing the myth that they only take kids from foreigners in Norway.

«Barnevernet» has been sentenced numerous times by the European Court of Human Rights for breaking paragraph 8 on «The Rights of the Family» of the European Convention of Human Rights, but the Norwegian governments seldom comply.

Updated research shows that the number of illegal take-overs of children has increased since 2020, when the Norwegian Supreme Court claimed to have changed the practices of the courts.
