Ambassador Bhaskar is now a Professor of Corporate Governance in New Delhi

Dr. Bala Bhaskar of New Delhi, India is the first guest on Insight in 2026.

A seasoned ambassador for the world´s most populous nation as well as the largest democracy in the world, Dr. Bhaskar shares with Pastor Jan-Aage Torp in this first section of a two-part interview the importance of India´s system with checks and balances which provides every citizen with basic human rights and opportunities. He discusses the crucial role of India´s Constitution, and of having well-functioning public institutions such as the judiciary, the government, and the parliament.

His last ambassadorial assignment was Norway, and that is where Ambassador Bhaskar and Pastor Torp developed a warm and informed friendship.

His doctorate is in economics, but after his return to India, Dr. Bala Bhaskar serves as Professor of Corporate Governance at Indian institute of Corporate Affairs, New Delhi.
